What is a Retail Diary?

Instead of writing into a journal no one reads, I share all my musings here. I read a lot about retail, fashion and merchandising and have a lot of thoughts. All of the most interesting and need to know articles and thoughts get saved here. All with a pop culture lens. Sarah’s Retail Diary was once described as WWD meets UsWeekly and I love that. Stay up-to-date

What you can expect - I write weekly. Some newsletters are short snippets and others are deep dives. Subscribe and you won’t have to worry about missing anything. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox.

What you can expect to hear about:

  • e-commerce

  • brick & mortar

  • start-ups

  • DTC

  • influencers

  • trends

  • new launches

  • a heavy dose of fashion (but it is all fair game)

  • Seriously, ALL THE THINGS!!!

Who is Sarah Shapiro?

Currently: e-commerce at a Fortune 500 CPG company. Personal Shopper to family and friends - I’m the friend that keeps sending you links and articles of what you will love. LinkedIn and my personal website here.
Past: Bloomingdale’s, Williams-Sonoma, Brandless. Fashion Accessories Entrepreneur and Designer, Consultant. (Merchandising)

On a personal note, I live in the Bay Area with my husband and 2 kids. I love living in CA but miss NYC (ask me for my chocolate chip cookie bakery ranking.) Most days you can catch me starting my day with Peloton and a Future workout, and fueling with Diet Coke during my busy day. I wind down reading the latest Fiction novel I’ve downloaded to my Kindle from Libby, bought at my favorite local book store or reading a magazine cover to cover.

How about you?

I want to learn more about you - feel free to reach out. Let me know what you’d like to hear more about.
