Agreed. Now, we will see how it will unfold. I believe it's a clever move to have the founder's voice instead of coming on Substack as' just a brand' trying to capitalize on a new platform. I also think this approach is only possible for certain companies whose founders have always interacted with their audiences, hence why finding Amy Smilovic or Bobbi Brown here is no surprise. I don't think Substack is as accessible for brands as Instagram was, in the sense that here they need to bring something more than just beautiful images and viral content. The target audience is also different as people are now coming to Substack because there is a clear fatigue for Instagram and TikTok.
Ohh! Is it this one? She is in the round-up and very fun. I also keep thinking there must be a version of their hug bag with a long strap similar to the Alaia Le Treckel or the Simona from Khaite https://go.shopmy.us/p-4108090
Well, it's obvious that Instagram and Tiktok not being so lucrative anymore for brands and influencers, they'd turned to another platform. I am also weary about seeing brands and influencers flock here as it might change the dynamic of Substack. I still think though that founders like Amy Smilovic who already had a voice before is in a good place on Substack. Let's see for others.
As someone who is in the world of apparel & beauty ecommerce/digital, I’ve got to say I really enjoy your Substack so SO much. Recently, for multiple reasons, I’ve fallen out of love with my industry and the sectors I work in (toxic work environments, bad management etc….) BUT seeing this industry through your narrative and the references you share (PDP’s!!) for those outside the industry has made me think it’s not all bad…..and sometimes it’s even interesting :-) thank you
wow. and thank you. this means a lot to me. I know how tough the industry can be (many other industries too) and how much the industry needs to change. but I know it takes time and it will need engaged, smart and trustworthy people to move the needle. if you ever want to have a conversation I'm here to chat one-on-one. but in the meantime i'll keep sharing ideas for us to discuss here. thank you!
So interesting how many founders have launched a Substack of late…

Amy Smilovic is a great example of a founder Substack that feels so authentic. She shares such great styling advice and original thoughts here.
Agree. I wonder how much is Substack making the connection/acquiring vs Founders joining on their own.
Love your substack! On a related note, Ferragamo has a lovely east-west bag that's worth checking out.

Or this one too. A little closer to the Alaia shape. https://go.shopmy.us/p-4353744
This is the one I was thinking of!
