Shopping Note….. 🛍️
Belts were trending more in 2023 and I think 2024 will be another big belt (and sock) year. I really enjoyed all the styling tips from
on 2024’s Skinny Belt RenaissanceWhat I’m reading….. 📚
I finished Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. It was a beautiful and well told story, but very difficult topics. Trigger warnings of all types. I’m glad I read it but I needed what I like to call a palate cleanser before I start another heavy book - so now I’m reading The Sunset Crowd by Karin Tanabe that is giving Daisy Jones and the Six for the Fashion & Hollywood set.
In preparation for a Retail Diary Book Club later this week, I’m reading Deluxe: How Luxury Lost its Luster by
which is an enjoyable read during Award Season and watching the Golden Globes.Because I kept seeing this book pop up everywhere, I have The Creativite Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin on my nightstand. I like
‘s tip that she reads a chapter before she writes. I’m trying 1-2 chapters before bed each night. Other creatives that I’ve heard have mentioned this book are and gifted it to many loved ones (I’m storing away that tip for my creative friends.) Plus it looks beautiful on a nightstand or desk. What I’m Trying…..🙌
Weekend Plans - I really appreciated this WSJ article about how to plan the ideal weekend with a formula. See formula below and plan your next weekend to feel energized and relaxed.
What’s Next 🗓️
Later this week you can expect one more This Will Be Quick and Retail Diary: Book Club. Plenty of wellness, fitness and health marketing now that the holidays are officially finished so I’m tracking trends and data there too. Maybe another fun athleisure collab 🤔

Love all the reading. I haven't been able to shut up about The Creative Act! Also: I read Deluxe years ago when it first came out (2008??) and it was excellent. But of course I've forgotten most of it as that was so long ago! You are making me want to re-read.
Thanks for the mention! I read another chapter this morning before I sat down to write - so good. Also, love the recap of the Golden Globe trends!
