🛍️ This post is long (too much good stuff to share!) so you may need to hit “expand” or read it in your browser - I promise it will be worth it! 🛍️
This Will Be Quick is where I share content that is at the top of my list this week. Tends to have a fashion or retail focus but not always.
What I’m reading…📰
I loved learning about whimsical jewelry designer Nadine Ghosn. The comparison to Judith Leiber is fantastic as both are very collectible, vibrant, glittery and joyful. She’s also innovative and thoughtful with the meanings of the pieces. To check out more of her pieces you can see them here and a pencil bracelet might be my personal favorite.
- had a lovely Substack “10 Ways To Make Your Home Feel 'Unique'" that had me wanting to play around in my own space. The images are so warm - that’s what made it feel so special and layered.
What I’m listening to…🎧
I did a lot of walking last week around the cliffs at Sea Ranch. Beautiful and great podcasts listening.
New podcast I’m obsessed with (after listening to only 1 episode!! This is good y’all.) Friends & Family with Aurora James is super engaging, informative and a unique way of interviewing guests. Aurora James is an incredible storyteller. I can’t say enough great things about this. Go listen and let me know what you think. “Getting a "Yes" In Business, with Emma Grede of Good American, Plus Instagram Tips from Eva Chen”
Vox’s Senior Correspondent, Rebecca Jennings, writes great articles on internet trends and what is happening online. ICYMI interviewed her and I enjoyed this listen.
Liv Perez interviews celebrity stylist Jamie Mizrahi on her podcast “Let’s Get Dressed.”
I had this podcast in my queue and after
mentioned, I listened to it. It is a solid Gwyneth Paltrow interview. They did a great job with this. “Gwyneth Paltrow - On Real Wellness Routines, Career Advice, & How To Feel Your Best”
What I’m watching…📺
I don’t watch SNL, but I do love seeing what is trending after. This is so scary and true. “Pilates: The Greatest Form of Torture.” 😂
As I mentioned Sunday, I binged “The Girls on the Bus” and LOVE it! New episode out today (Tuesday April 9th.)
I’ll also be watching the Documentary on Brandy Melville today - “Brandy Hellville & The Cult of Fast Fashion.” What a title! The WWD article I linked shares that it is directed by Oscar-winning director Eva Orner. Orner has also been the filmmaker for the 2021 “Burning” climate change documentary and the 2019 “Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator.”
What’s Trending…🚀
White Overalls
First, how we got here. So far I’m thinking it stems from looser denim styles as well as cargo pants/denim from recent seasons.
Last summer/fall overalls were also popping in some circles (I’m thinking of
here in white and here and here (PS Mazel Tov Rachel on your recent wedding!)Needing new styles for Spring 2024, White Overalls aren’t too far of a stretch and Courtney Grow clearly has an influence. Jen Shoop wore the Alex Mill version last week and shared on her Magpie instagram that many were buying their own pair making it a best seller.
Is this a style you’ll try? If so, Still Here New York has a pair and so does Alex Mill and Old Navy has a range of lengths. Old School Dickies has up to size 2XL. A full round-up of white overalls here in a range of prices and sizes. Or just try an overall buckle tank here.1
I posted the above Instagram Story post after I saw
“How Far Can We Push It With Overalls?” styling the Still Here New York pair, Jen Shoop and Alex Mill all showcasing White Overalls in my Instagram scroll this weekend. spotted the same thing and wrote this INCREDIBLE Spring style post “The Love List Ten.” Check it out and get ready for warmer weather dressing (also loving “Transitional Jacket O'Clock” for what to layer with your overalls now until Summer.
P.S. Are you following Sarah’s Retail Diary on Instagram? I share a bunch of quick trends I notice. Would love to connect there too.
What I’m shopping for…🛍️
Sunday I took my Gen Alpha daughter to Sephora and we shopped together. It was really special as we talked about marketing, branding and why she likes the items she does. Honestly, anyone who shops with me gets to chat retail. Even if you are a tween. We picked up a few items in store (her Birthday is later this week and she used her own money for a few treats and a few things we get to share but apparently they get to live in her room/bathroom. I thought it could be our car lip balm.) This is what we picked up in store. Last week I wrote about how I approach my Sephora sale shopping - a mixture of refills and things that I’m excited to try. My full list is here.
I’m planning to visit some local Bay Area shops in the next few weeks. Excited to see Attersee at Hero Shop in Marin (I spy Anya Hindmarch there in a few weeks too!) I’m also checking out Freda Salvador in SF and noticed they have a great new collab with favorite swim brand Left on Friday (this is my personal favorite - the material is incredible.) LoF was just featured in a Forbes article where I learned that they designed the Canadian Beach Volleyball uniforms for the Summer Olympics in Paris.
What stores are looking great to you right now? Anything exciting I should check out in the Bay Area?
Wrapping it up, how about this lovely style tip?

I really love exploring trends and where they come from. It is something I’m always looking out for. I don’t always share my own looks here but I know I’ve shared my affinity for dressing in a lot of black. 🖤 I’m skipping the overall trend because when I wore it many moons ago I realized I looked like a toddler and it wasn’t exactly my style. I can appreciate it on others without partaking myself.
The white overalls thing- I cannot! While I love how fab it looks on others…I always have to tell myself- not everything looks good on everyone (ie, me) 🤣
I love your content, and I vote for Retail 101 Part 3! And thanks for sharing the SNL skit re: Pilates torture. Accurate and funny!
