I have SO. MANY. THOUGHTS RE: runways as escape!! I’ll never be able to afford runway pieces so can I appreciate the fantasy of it all? Hell yes. However, the fashion houses have insane influence on the entire fashion eco-system so when they continue to raise prices of goods (and the fantasy element of design) what is a layperson supposed to take from it?!
Agree. I feel like this is certainly worth a deeper dive. Both Amy Odell and Dana Thomas write about this and I really appreciate their views. I kept debating myself in my head as I was writing this weeks recap.
