Loved today’s recap — I adore Laura Vinroot Poole’s podcast and the Mickey episode was no exception. He absolutely deserves a book…might get on that as the fashion essay collection I am pitching is not picked up by an agent yet!
“Only 26% of Households have someone in the Gen Alpha demographic, but that demographic is driving 49% of all Mass Skin Care sales growth.” As Gen Alpha are not at an age where they have full revenue streams from labour (aka work) this is the deep dive question; 26% of households that are supporting skincare for minors, is it parents indulging or the loosening of the Boomer cash flow? Retailers have been trying to low key crack the code on how to release this locked down cash flow without being beholden or begging. Is this finally the onslaught of Boomer cash we have been looking for? Inheritance or Grandpa’s credit card?
