I can argue both sides. On the one hand, yes! Whenever I hear sold out/out of stock I want to respond “show me the POs” I need to know how many were ordered. The NYT interview with Law Roach was really good and I enjoyed the looks from the Met Gala this year - many of the dresses actually interpreted the dress code brief and inspiration well. Jellies always remind me of childhood summers, even if I won't be forking over The Row prices for them 😋 And thank you so much for including me in your post! 💕
since the jelly-flat discourse is handled I just want to profess my love for hirshleifers! I grew up on LI and they totally shaped my fashion sensibility.
slightly OT but from roughly 2008 to 2010, they had the most incredible end-of-season sales – likely excess inventory due to the financial crisis – where chanel and louboutin shoes were routinely 40-60% off. my mom and I still reminisce about it lol
Their curation is impeccable. Yes, 2008 hit the financial world and therefore the retail world so hard. Seeing luxury retailers like Saks, Hirshleifers and others discounting so deeply was wild!

Yes! The theme this year made for some great interpretations. Much easier to understand compared to Camp.
Camp was a riot, I think the chairs of the gala enjoy assigning challenging briefs to the designers most years! 😄
