I was at a summit where the Merit CMO spoke and hearing the brand POV made me crush harder. Some takeaways were they don’t chase having viral product they want merit to be something people use for ten years, they also want every product to be hero product and be clear on what a product is and is not and meet customers off the bat in setting expectations. It very much gave playing the long game and that’s kind of refreshing when it feels like everything is about vitality and micro trends

I'm sure you know them already, but for great sea-themed jewelry, Brinker & Eliza cannot be beat!

Chanel AI 🤯

it is so wild. 1) feels pretty accurate 2) with the celine as an example, I was wondering where hedi slimane ended and celine began...so maybe a tweak of what if celine hedi slimane and chanel merged...if that makes sense. 3) the buttons on some of them...??? you can tell that was AI 4) sadly made me less interested in Sarah Burton for Chanel so made me think AI might not be great for testing what would work...it felt underwhelming.

The Chanel AI is WILD. I think I still prefer Hedi’s version !

Obsessed with those red shorts. I may now be ending up with them in black and red.

Also! Not sure if you have tried the staud knack pant but they have it in a gorgeous cherry red. Fabric has a ton of give but it does have a front zip which gives a little more formal feel. I ordered them in my never ending red pant quest and while they didn’t fit me quite right, I was so sad to return them because they could have been a wardrobe workhorse.

those have been on my radar! but i'm not wearing a lot of hard pants these days. i'm loving my knit kick flares and some scuba style leggings I have. maybe i'll try again in fall (wearing mostly dresses and silk-y pants for summer) thanks for the rec.

also, usually not a shorts person but i'm loving the shorts sets especially monochrome.

Laura Vinroot Poole is forever my fave podcaster! Despite Capitol being a spectacular retail destination, she’s steadfast about what I also feel to be true — what we wear shapes who we are and the best stories and the heart of the industry are the people behind the labels.

My fashion essay collection — may it see the light of day! — has this same ethos.

Oh! Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check them out. I have been wearing loafers a ton - I find them to fit so well with the "wrong shoe" styling theory
