Explore the latest in retail innovation, from in-store traffic tactics to the resurgence of pointelle fabric and the chic GAT sneaker trend (don't know GAT? Keep reading)
I have stopped shopping online except on weekends -- and on weekends I want to shop IRL, not online! I love going into stores because I'm so tired of returns and just can't tell how things will fit or whether I will feel the emotional way I think I will feel. I am beginning to think that a "full body yes" -- which I require from my purchases, can even be achieved if you're not in store! (ALSO: i loved the voice over!)
i read “hotel lobby candle” as “hobby lobby candle” and was like, that can’t be luxe?! 🤪
in-store shopping while on holiday is the best treat. but at home i always feel rushed or it’s too crowded. that said, i will stop at the columbus circle j.crew and nordstrom if i’m in the neighborhood.
I’ve had my eye on the LL pillow hobo but may be pull the trigger on the pillow pouch as I tend to like my bags a little smaller. Trying to be mindful in spending post vacation but dang if I am not tempted!
Also I’m such a huge fan of scarfs / bandanas to add a zhuj of a third piece. The Hermes game people play to get offered QB has meant a lot of NWT scarves end up on RealReal and I snap them up. I also have been obsessed with handker bandanas and they were perfect (and functional) on our recent holiday to Slovenia where we did a lot of outdoor activity and it was quite warm.
Well this is cool. Coming from a tv producer I appreciate any element that feels "live". However, I did not even notice it at the top of this post until I got to the very end of your post. Pretty cool...but is video next?? I always find a hidden gem or two on your posts and really enjoy reading them.
In store shopping is still a source of entertainment, a boredom cure. Unless I need the physical piece right away I generally shop online more but there is something breathtaking about walking into a store and seeing a new collection. I'm more apt to purchase in that frame of mind too.
Because I work in retail, I’m biased towards shopping in person, obviously. When we have customers who ask for something that we don’t have and we offer to send it to them, they often say “oh I’ll just order it online”. I politely say “if you let us order it the store gets credit”, because it’s true, but many people don’t think that way. But the more you buy or order from the store, the more likely the store is to get the merchandise they need to stay open.
