Weekly retail reads: Uniqlo's game-changing strategy to must-know beauty finds (hello, Versed retinol body care). Plus, intimate apparel to fill your drawer and lace skirts for the holiday season
Maybe we add to the things not to ask a woman (her age, her weight) and now “how long it took her to write a Substack” 😆 I love it and do spend time spiraling as I keep thinking of more to add.
I was excited to see if maybe I could try Skims bras, since my boobs are pretty much the size of Kim K’s (and the bane of my life, as is finding bras I like). Bur in every pic of her on the site, in her own brand of bras, they are very clearly several sizes too small for her.
Brands do this all the time, show girls with bigger boobs stuffed into bras that in no way fit them and call that inclusive. But I thought a brand whose founder has them might have been different. It’s such bad advertising to women with bigger boobs that she’s on her own site wearing a bra that absolutely is too small for her.
That is frustrating! Finding bras is so challenging. I recommend trying this one. https://go.shopmy.us/p-8758530 and even if you aren’t local, Rigby & Peller, Town Shop etc can be so helpful.
Thank you! Empreinte are lovely, but out of my price range sadly, as is Rigby & Peller. I make do with Bravissimo for the moment (I live in France but shop there when I go home to visit the UK – if you’re anything over a C in France you can forget it) but I live in hope still of finding something affordable and modern rather than matronly for those of us who have been cursed in that department! If anyone reading has found this holy grail I’m all ears!
I LOVE ELSE!!! I stopped by their store in Santa Monica and had the BEST experience. They were so lovely and helpful, and I am giddy about my new lingerie!!! Everything is so pretty and makes getting dressed fun. I am a 32ddd in Natori and took a 32dd in ELSE. I HIGHLY recommend checking them out!!!
Have always been obsessed with Uniqlo for basics but am even more obsessed with Claire Waight Keller’s pieces. The swishy long skirts from the fall collection are 👌👌👌
Thanks for looking into Cou Cou intimates!! The organic cotton certification is really cool to me. I just got re-sized (at VS lol they were having a semi annual sale. I have to say the merchandizing in store was bad) for the first time in years and I never could have predicted that I am now a 32DD. I don’t LOOK that buxom. But that is the size that fit me.
I’m so intrigued by Sorbara! I noodled around ages ago on a more elevated IRL experience for vintage and second hand, based on a home goods shop at the time in Greenpoint. I think they’ve nailed it, and I can’t wait to visit!
Uniqlo is so good, but I can’t figure out why they haven’t opened a physical store here. We have 2 major universities with a larger Asian population, so belittle in name recognition.
I went to college with the daughter of Intimacy’s founder and got to do several bra fittings with Susan. It truly changed the ways I looked for bras and stressed the importance of getting fit annually! Your body changes so you bra fit changes too! Rigby & Peller is a great option if you have one but so is Nordstrom as they are more widely available. My go-to bra is still Chantelle as they hold up and fit really well, especially for larger (D and above) cup sizes.
I ordered the EBY relief bra. It’s not bad. It’s probably one of my better wireless bras but I just generally have a tough time with wireless given the size of my boobs lol. I will say their highwaisted panties are phenomenal - I bought one pair then went back and bought 2 more after I realized how good they are. Thanks for a great post as always!
Old School, but nothing is better for big boobs than Wacol, especially because they are widely available. I also suggest looking for true independent bra retailers in your town or where you might be vacationing.
We shop Uniqlo when we visit Chicago, but have always wondered why they haven't come to the Mall of America in Minnesota. We have Artizia and Zara now! (lol) A Canada Goose store AND Moncler is opening, along with a new designer wing in Southdale! I promise I will tell everyone I to go there... Heat Tech would sell particularly well.
Sarah, I need to know how many hours these take you...just so wildly detailed and thorough!!!

lol i get it...i would never total up how many hours my weekend letters take me because i frankly don't want to know!

Else is new to me. Their site looks great. Adding to my list to check out. Thanks for the rec.

So in-depth! Negative bras / Uniqlo undies for me!
I look forward to the scoop every single week. It’s the first the I read this morning. Hi from Los Angeles!
Ordered some EBY + will report back. Thank you for the endless treasures, coverage and insights!
I really like EBY's Relief bra and Araks has been a favorite brand of mine for years. Really unique pieces.
